No iPod, no HR monitor. Just put on the Piranha's and went for a jog.
First time running in them for months - need to transition into them. Lower body still a bit tight. Not sure what to do about recovery because I continually feel stiff and tight. Not sure if its because I'm doing too much then not running for too long and subsequently not adapting.
I do see that you do some foam rolling etc but how agressive do you get in terms of lower legs... tennis ball in the calves...? even better get a massage or some such... might help?
ReplyDeleteThe amount of money I've spent on massage! Its more the fact that its long lasting DOMS. So I can't seem to get back into training as quickly as I would like. Then I leave it a bit long, head out for 20km and then wonder why I have such bad DOMS. I'm thinking I should up the km's but spread them out a bit more and build more of a base - at the same time I want to build strength. So maybe December/January will be strength building (inc as many short barefoot runs as possible), then February will be putting the km's in.
