8km Trail Recovery Run

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/98032040

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/98032044

Recovery run up in the mountains near my parents. Went down one trail which was closed off (first link) then had to find another (second link). On the second one I went down a track that was accessible by motorbikes only and got myself a bit freaked out thinking about snake bites. Unfortunately the trail only ran for a few k's. Freaked a guy out on a horse when I ran out from the bush. Felt a bit stiff and sore from yesterday and called it early.

Ended up logging 76km this week with two days off in the middle trying to get the calf back to normal.

My left calf and shin are feeling terrible despite two ice baths yesterday. Time to get a massage I think! Ran it down at Bicentennial Park so a bit of a change in scenery.

Logged 275km in June - highest volume this year since February which I think was 220km

10km Recovery Run

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/91683724

55:17
Avg Pace: 5:31min/km

A wet ordinary morning. Really just wanted to see how the legs had pulled up after yesterdays effort. First five k were pretty good, then the legs just got heavy. Nice to be out in the inclement weather.

Logged 57km for the week.

2.90km

A quick run around the block to get a bit of movement and see how the legs felt after 21km yesterday. Seemed pretty good by my standards.

A slow, painful experience. Legs have pulled up really, really badly. Calves, quads, shins, hammies, everything. Went to the UTS acupuncture clinic for some needles to help with recovery hopefully. Epsom salt baths, compression tights - whatever I can do to have my legs feeling better tomorrow!

14km Run + 2km Barefoot Recovery

Pretty decent. Felt a little slow and wasn't exerting myself overly, perhaps because I was comparing to Tuesday's 1:05 13k. Ran again in the Lunars without issue.

A very easy 15min recovery barefoot effort. Legs feel very fatigued from the mornings run. Have run in some form for five consecutive days. I'm thinking about doing my long run up in the mountains somewhere this week. But we'll see - I enjoy running around the water here too, but really need some hills soon.

Trying to get my legs moving after a longer run to see how that affects things. Ran in the Piranhas which, towards the end, started to feel pretty good. Felt like I had some solid form going on, albeit brief. I actually ran this a bit fast - should have been between 6:11 and 6:30 according to the McMillan Running Calculator.

http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/mcmillanrunningcalculator.htm

Fairly stiff and sore, particularly the left knee which I seem to be having a bit of trouble with again. trying to aggressively hit the above and below and trying to stretch as much as possible.

Also hit up 15ml of fish oil to see if that has any effect. Been pretty inconsistent with the fish oil of late, as with most of my diet. Moving house soon which should give me more time to get a few extra cross training sessions in. Like others I have grand plans. What remains to be seen is whether I can pull it off!
